North Shropshire Conservatives were delighted to welcome former Cabinet Minister Jacob Rees-Mogg to Shrewsbury for a successful fundraising event held at Theatre Severn on 15 May 2026.
Held in the Haydn Smith Room, the intimate afternoon event brought together around 50 supporters and guests for an afternoon of political discussion, networking and fundraising in support of the association’s ongoing work across North Shropshire.
Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg delivered an engaging and insightful speech covering the current political landscape, before taking part in an extended Q&A session with attendees. Guests also had the opportunity to speak with Sir Jacob throughout the afternoon, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere enjoyed by all in attendance.
The event was supported by Oak Apple Catering, who provided an excellent afternoon tea buffet for guests.
Richard Hamilton, Press Spokesman, said:
“It was a fantastic afternoon and a real privilege to welcome Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg to Shropshire. The event provided supporters with a valuable opportunity to engage directly in political discussion in a more personal and informal setting. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon such a success.”
The North Shropshire Conservatives would like to thank all attendees, volunteers and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.
